So I am now sure that homeschooling brings out qualities in kids that get stifled in a classroom setting. When kids are told what to draw, what to write, what to read and how to do things, they just can't get creative. So I am pretty free with Emmy's learning environment and it shows on a daily basis. She studies things that you or I would just walk over. She looks at the world as a huge classroom and I am sure she will make a huge impact on the world one day. So as the older kids were working on Math, I see Emmy squatting and staring at the grass. This is normal since she gathers all sorts of bugs during the day and collects them (yeah, even Cockroaches!). So Eli decided to go and check on her and what she showed us was amazing. For over a year we have been in Hawaii and never seen Sleeping Grass. Only Emmy would reach down and pet a leaf to see if it would do anything!
I have a video of Emmy touching the grass and it folding up, but the file is too large and I don't know how to edit it!!!
This is part of Eli's pumpkin Patch. Somehow he planted a few seeds after we gutted some pumpkins in October. I will post pics later of how big this pumpkin patch is!
